Little more than two weeks before Election Day, Hillary Clinton is poised for success where it counts: the Electoral College.
The Democratic nominee enjoys big leads over Republican foe Donald Trump in states that add up to 213 electoral votes, acco"Clinton continues to hold a clear lead over Trump nationally, and her current advantage in battleground states would be enough to give her an electoral college victory in November," the Associated Press reports in its state-by-state analysis.
The AP also notes that Clinton is competitive and has a shot at other large states — notably Florida and Ohio — as well as a few traditionally Republican states like Arizona and North Carolina.
Trump, meanwhile, has solid leads in states with 106 electoral votes; he also leads in Republican-leaning states with 73 electoral votes. Those would give him a total of only 179 electoral votes.
Remember, popular votes don't elect presidents; state-by-state victories do.
